Character Design/Building worksheets help you organize information and thoroughly explore your character. They contain a number of questions that you can answer about your character that could help you fill in gaps, inspire new plot ideas, help you get ‘un-stuck’ or help you get a new perspective on an old favorite. There are basic questions about personality, appearance, and history but there are also advanced questions about the character’s personal perspective vs the perspective of others (on him/herself). The last section is undoubtably the most fun section. It contains a list of amusing “what if” style questions that put your character in a situation that he or she might never find themselves in naturally. Besides just being fun, these questions can help you think about aspects of your character that might not otherwise have come up in your story. The better you flesh out your character, even if the information is not used in your text, the more ‘real’ he or she will seem. People will notice. So go ahead, take a crack at some of these. Have a good time. If you have filled out of these questions there is no way you won’t have a round, fleshy character
